The History of Coagh booklet lists Stoker George Jardine as having served with the Royal Navy on board H.M.S. Tiger in the war. He joined the Royal Navy in 1893. Throughout his entire career in the Navy, he was known as George Jordan. Stoker George Jordan served on board many ships during his long career in the Navy. Stoker George Jordan served on board HMS Tiger during the war. When George returned home after the war, he worked as a cobbler.
